Intel has updated its Intel Unite solution for collaboration and content sharing.
The Intel Unite solution is now available as a subscription service. It runs on a wider range of devices. And it’s easier for the channel to buy and resell.
Intel is also offering partners new Intel Unite training courses.
Intel Unite: with new ways to use and resell
Intel Unite is a content-sharing and collaboration solution designed for business, education and healthcare. It lets both in-person and remote participants share content directly from their devices without the need for cables, dongles or adapters.
Though Intel Unite has been offered for several years, it’s taken on a new relevance with the rise of hybrid work. The new, post-pandemic workplace is shaping up to include a mix of both in-office and at-home staff. Intel Unite’s interoperability is a perfect fit.
Changes for users
In the past, the Intel Unite software was bundled with specific PC SKUs. To be compatible with Intel Unite, their PC hub had to use the Intel vPro platform.
This year, Intel has changed that. Now the Intel Unite solution is being offered as a subscription only.
Also, the Intel Unite software will run on any Windows 10 or 11 PC with anything newer or better than a 7th gen Intel Core i5 processor. This means your customers can repurpose older Intel-based PCs to act as their Intel Unite solution hub.
Changes for the channel
Intel has also made some changes for channel partners that want to resell or repackage the Intel Unite solution.
A new reseller program offers 3 structured tiers, each with a progressively larger discount. Resellers are assigned to a tier based on their go-to-market strategy, which includes their sales projections and number of staff who complete the Intel Unite Solution Competency, an in-depth training program with 14 short courses.
To help resellers further, Intel has just released the first version of a new web portal. Channel partners can use the portal to place orders, make payments and more. Access to the portal is granted after a reseller completes an Intel agreement.
On the partner training front, the Intel Unite Solution Competency, available only in Intel Partner University, has been refreshed with 5 new courses:
> What is the Intel Unite solution?
> How the Intel Unite solution works
> Partnering with Intel for success
> How to sell the Intel Unite solution
> Next steps: Implementing an Intel Unite solution proof-of-concept (PoC)
In all, the Intel Unite Competency offers a total of 14 courses. Complete all of them and pass each course quiz, and you’ll earn an Intel Partner Solution Pro badge. Use this badge promote your skills online and in social media for up to 18 months.
