When Intel introduced its 8th Gen Core processor family in late August, the company also said that several tier-1 PC hardware suppliers would announce Windows 10 systems based on the new CPUs soon. They have.
Here’s a list of just some of the latest Windows 10 PCs with 8th Gen Intel Core processors. Any would be excellent candidates for your customers needing to refresh their older PCs.
> Nitro 5 Spin: This convertible notebook is aimed at gamers. Enthusiast features include a 15.6-inch full HD display, Nvidia graphics and up to 10 hours of battery life. Shipments begin next month, with retail prices starting at $1,000.
> Swift 5: A very light notebook weighing in at 1 kg (2.2 lb.), it also offers a full HD display, Dolby audio, and up to 8 hours of battery life. It will ship in December with retail prices starting at $1,000.
> Switch 7: A fanless 2-in-1 device that also features Nvidia graphics, it sports a 13.5-inch display and weighs 2.5 lb. Shipments begin in December, with retail prices starting at $1,700.
> Spin 5: A notebook aimed at business users. It weighs a bit more — 1.5 kg. (about 3.3 lb.) with its 13-inch display (a 15-incher is also available). Also on board: Dolby sound, 4 mics with far-field voice recognition, and an optional Nvidia GPU. Both versions will retail for $800 and up, and shipments are set to begin later this month.
> ZenBook Flip S: The company says this is the world’s thinnest convertible laptop at 10.9 mm. (approx. 0.4 in.). It also features a 1TB solid state drive (SSD), innovative cooling, and a fingerprint sensor.
> Zenbook Flip 14 and 15: The company claims the Flip 14 is the world’s thinnest 2-in-1: 13.9 mm. (or about half an inch). You also get a 14-inch full HD display, a fingerprint sensor and up to 13 hours of battery life. The Flip 15 delivers a 15.6-inch display, Nvidia GPU, USB-C port and more.
> XPS 13: Not a new system, but an older laptop that’s now powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU. Also offered: a 13.3-inch quad-HD display. It’s shipping now for $1,400 and up.
> Inspiron 7000: It’s a 2-in-1 offered with a choice of either 13- or 15-inch full-HD touch display. Shipments begin Oct. 3 with prices set at $850 and up. There’s also an Inspiron 7000 in a laptop configuration. It will also ship on Oct. 3, with prices starting at $800.
> Spectre x360: This convertible laptop sports a 15.6-inch 4K ultra-HD display, Nvidia graphics, Windows 10 Home and a battery life of nearly 13 hours. It’s standard with the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU. Retail prices start at about $1,240.
> Yoga 920: Another convertible laptop, this device features a 13.9-inch 4K display and far-field voice recognition, so Cortana can hear the user from as far away as 4 meters (about 13 feet). There’s also an optional pressure-sensitive pen that works with Windows Ink. Battery life is promised for up to 15 hours.
Lenovo says shipments of the Yoga 920 will begin this month. The company has set the price, but so far only in euros: €1,600, which works out to about $1,900.
You'll surely find even more systems out there running on the new "Coffee Lake" CPUs. Paired with Windows 10, they really will offer your customers a great refresh path from older PCs that are increasingly costly, and risky, to run.
